Using bolds depths of colours and a mixture of mix-mediums, creates a unique maximalist, abstract and urban contemporary feel to her paintings.
The artist known as Artist on the Thames is an abstract and maximalist painter, based in Abingdon on Thames in Oxfordshire, UK, which created the alias Artist on the Thames, after moving to Oxfordshire in 2020, before then Artist on the Thames, spent most of her life based between Bedfordshire and London.
Playing a key Influencing within her art works from the natures around the thames and the countryside, along side use of bold and virbant city life colours, the combines virbancy of the city and country side together. Using these to represent and adapt into a visual metaphor.
From 2008 -2011 Studied Fine Art, at Dunstable school of Art & Design and De Montfort University. Developing her abstract painting style, through the movement of bold paint and brush marks.
In 2010 Artist on the Thames collaborated on projects with the former artistic Bedfordshire art group, JumbleFresh, lead and directed by pop culture artist, Lhouette. The projects they collaborated on, developed her interest of combining the medium style of spray paints and acrylic paint together.
Layering of acrylic paint, with other mix-mediums, Merging arrange of vibrant and explosives colours, adding depth to her works. Artist tools of using different techniques with paint brushes to squeegees, palette knives and spounges. Creates the distinctive paint marks in her paintings, making them stand out on the canvas. The Striking paint palette she chooses and the marks she makes using the acrylic paint. Inspiring new worlds and views of what we see in her artwork, giving that maximalist feel with a contemporary twist.
